Whew. It’s been awhile since I felt like I could take a moment to breathe. We had three wonderful weekends full of guests from Wisconsin that ended yesterday with playing cards with my parents. Matt and I had such a great time with our families and friends, but are ready for a chill weekend full of detoxing, television and not moving.
I thought I would share some fun photos from the past couple of weeks so that you can see what I’ve been up to!
This little social media break of mine has been good. A cold that will not go away combined with family visiting made it really hard to find the energy to do any social media or blogging. Taking time to rest and spend time with family has been so nice. Hoping that I can kick this cold and crank out some great content I have planned for y’all!
The leaves in Boston are really putting on a show. This tree on my way home from work was beautiful for a full week, and I couldn’t resist a good shoe and leaf picture.
Not Pictured: Goose poop and high schoolers giving me a look because I looked ridiculous trying to take this photo.
Matt works near Copley Square, so I frequently walk over there from my job to meet him so we can go to Trader Joe’s, which is seriously my new obsession since moving here. One day he was running late, it was such a gloomy day and all I wanted to do was go home. But I sat down, looked around and realized how much Boston had started to feel like home. It was an amazing realization that after months of change, I feel like we’re starting to put down real roots together!
Not Pictured: Me avoiding every pigeon that walked by because I don’t like them, and a couple of people who asked me to take their picture for them because I was sitting alone for 20 minutes.
One of my best friends and bridesmaids came to visit a week ago. I really needed the girl time, as I’m slowly but surely making new friends out here. Getting dressed up as nothing in particular for Halloween, dancing and singing along with the house band was probably the best thing for me this past month. We even did some wedding work that was made me calm down quite a bit. My friends are sent from heaven and I’m so lucky to have them!
Not Pictured: Sam and I instructing Matt where to go, and me having to put on an extra pair of socks so I had traction when I walked.
I’m obsessed with my bar cart, no big deal. After Halloween is a little awkward, you never know what to do before Thanksgiving, especially if you’re a Christmas fanatic like me. I love to savor this time but keeping up my fall decor, planning my Christmas lists and coordinating Thanksgiving!
Not Seen: The amount of dusting I needed to do very quickly so I could get enough light. Also you don’t see the pile of Kleenexs that followed me around because I was so sick.
This photo has been one of my most popular, and there will be a post coming soon about our not-planned trip up to Glouchester, MA. It was such a great day with my parents and Matt, and to see the sunset from this beautiful spot was breathtaking.
Not Seen: My parents and Matt walking away from me as I take a million photos. It’s fine, I’m used to them doing that.
Yesterday we finally made it to Tatte Bakery, and honestly it lived up to its Instagram hype! My parents grabbed breakfast there, and then Matt and I went over to Tavern on the Square to have brunch with friends of his from college. I did however have a bite of my parents’ breakfasts and loved it. We’re definitely going to go back and eat there ourselves one time.
Not Seen: Me trying to create enough space around me so no one else was in the shot, and Matt with my parents probably mocking me.
So that’s been it for me. How has the past couple of weeks been for you? What are you looking forward to in the upcoming couple of weeks?
