One of the best/worst parts of the holidays is all of the parties, friend dates, and events to go to! I love seeing everyone I love, but I don’t love feeling like I have to come up with a bunch of different outfits for all of the events. Since this is my least favorite part, I’ve found that having holiday outfit basics can be really helpful. Having go-to is especially important because I know I can throw them on at the last minute or in a rush, and they’ll look great together.
I’ve included pieces from different price points just so that you can decide what you want. There are a couple pieces that are timeless and can sit in your closet for years to come. There are a couple others that are more trendy, and those will definitely be a lower price point.

Holiday Outfit Basics
One of my favorite trends for the holiday season, it brings me right back to the 90s. I love the idea of a velvet cami layered with a cute blazer!
You can also grab a velvet blazer that will last you for a couple of holiday seasons to come.
Burgandy, Red, & Green
After doing a closet audit lets just say I need a little color in my life. A deep red, green and burgundy are my favorites for this time of year.
Dress up an outfit instantly with the right earrings. Perfect for adding some sparkle to an all-black outfit, or
Almost three years ago, my parents gifted me a beautiful black satin dress from J.Crew that has been in heavy rotation for holiday seasons ever since. Having one dress that you can rotate in and out of your closet for years to come is the perfect excuse to get one this season.
Satin is one of my favorites to wear this time of year because there’s something luxurious about it. It may not be one of the warmest fabrics, but it dresses up any outfit! I’m loving this satin top for after-work drinks or a slightly more casual Christmas party. If you get it in the dark green color, it’s also festive! It’s easy to dress up or down, meaning it can be worn multiple times throughout the season.
Other than for interviews, I rarely wear heels anymore. However, I love wearing them during this season and am in desperate need of a new pair. A lot of bloggers have been posting these tartan shoes, but I feel that a good pair of black shoes is the best way to go. Black or sparkly heels are probably your best holiday outfit basics.
Y’all know that I’m not a fashion blogger, so you’re not going to find a ground-breaking fashion. But I sincerely think that these holiday outfit basics will allow you to make multiple outfits out of a few pieces.
