How the heck is it almost Valentine’s Day? Romance, love, and lots of chocolate. Guess which one I’m the most excited about? You’re right, it’s the chocolate. Matt and I used to like low-key nights together when we were long distance, but now that we live together we might actually want to go out for a night in the North End (because Italian food).
While having a significant other is good on Valentine’s day, taking this day to treat yo self is even better. So I’m going to share some things that should make you feel good, relaxed, and hopefully empowered.
Treat Yo’ Self Valentine’s Day Items
Treat your self to new earrings and/or a cute barrette just for you to make you feel great!
Treat Yo’ Self Valentine’s Day Ideas
1. Make your favorite comfort meal: Who said that you have to have a fancy schmancy dinner on Valentine’s day that costs an arm and a leg but doesn’t fill your soul up too? Make or buy your favorite comfort meal, for one or two or more. Share it or don’t, but treat yo’ self to your comfort meal no matter the calories.
2. Take a workout class: Treat yo’ self means taking care of yourself, which working out does. Try a new class, or splurge on your favorite workout class that you only take every once in awhile. It’s the perfect way to release endorphins then go eat some food.
3. Run a bath, grab that bath bomb, and read a book: Take some “me” time and take a bath! Use a bath bomb, then grab your favorite book and read. Spend an hour or two just relaxing. Pour yourself your favorite drink, or have a nice cup of tea.
4. Make popcorn, grab some chocolate, and pop in your favorite movies: Invite your friends or just do it by yourself, but splurge a little and watch some of your favorite movies with your favorite candy! It doesn’t take much, but a little goes a long way.
The main point of this post is to remind you to treat yo’self a little more. If it takes a holiday like Valentine’s day to make you that, so be it.
